Gas went to 2.29 Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning, then back to 2.19. Otherwise ditto my last.

Gas went to 2.19 yesterday. Getting lots done at work, nothing anywhere else. Toodles!

Gas is at 2.15 in GR, it was at 2.10 at the Holiday in Bemidji yesterday. Not too bad compared to where we were.
Vger has, I think, lost the clutch. It will probably have to wait until summer for rreplacement, if I can find the time to work on it then. Friday night before the coldest weekend of this winter (of course!) the furnace quit running. I tore into it only to discover that the Heat Exchanger was packed full of soot. Started to clean it out and found a couple of cracks in the heat exchanger outlined by the soot. Guess what? Betty and Matt haven't had their regular morning headache since the furnace died.
And, of course, since the house got a bit chilly, the well plumbing froze up, so we were without water all day Sunday, but I got it thawed by Monday evening.
We are currently using a bunch of cheap wallyworld electric heaters to keep warm. Had to rearrange some house wiring to make it work, too much of the house was on just a couple of circuits (the old wiring) while the new circuits were not in the correct locations. Ran a few new outlets on new circuits to handle the load.
Heard on the news a Fire Department spokesman telling people not to use an open flame to thaw the plumbing, they lose a few homes every winter from that. I use a $15 blow dryer from wallyworld. Much less likely to damage the pipes or the walls or anything else, and it thaws things out fairly quickly. Most of the delay we had in getting heat and water was from my discovery that I had nowhere near as much hay on the well as I thought, and I had to scrape it out of the barn and haul it to where I needed it.
Wonder what is next?

Vger has died. It may be resurrected later, but not for the foreseeable future. Reference my last blog; I already have too many projects. Ah, well.

Gas is at 1.90, I can't believe it. Wonder how long it will last.
Feel like crap today, just can't seem to get anything moving. I'm buried in a quagmire of things to do, and none of them want to move at all, or maybe I don't want to push any of them. What I'd like to do is lay down and sleep, but for some reason I sit here and stare at the screen and hope it goes away and takes the rest of my problems with it. I'm overwhelmed with choices and projects and priorities, and everything seems to take priority over everything else. There is nothing on my list that can't be put off, it all needs to be done right now. If I were five people and could work at them for 48 hours a day I might be able to make some progress, but right now I feel like half a person and I can't focus for more than five minutes on anything.
Times up, my focus is running ou.....

Long time no see. Can you believe it? 1.95 for gas today in GR? It's been amazing to watch the price fall and fall and fall.

Oh my oh my oh my. Should have seen Jon's face Christmas morning. I don't know why I didn't have my camera ready, it was sitting right next to me. Gave Jon the Wii, last present under the tree. Now, Jon knew that Evvy and Matt stood in line 14+ hours to get one, he knew there were only 20 Wii's in stock, but what he wasn't told was that they were #3 in line. Jon's jaw almost hit the floor, he was so flabbergasted. He knew that he wasn't going to get one, but there it was! Evan (I think) got him Twilight Princess, Jon had that box setup and running in minutes. Showed us how to golf and bowl and box and how to play baseball and tennis, then loaded up TP and went to work. I think he will wear that TV out before he gets done.
The Wii is a remarkable piece of hardware. A small box about the size of a CDROM drive for a PC, just a little bit bigger, with ports on the back and one side. A small sensor about 1/4" tall, 1" deep and 9" wide that sits under (or on top) of the TV. And, of course, the remote. And it works! I was kinda skeptical at first, but it took just a moment to setup the box, included telling the Wii whether the sensor was above or below the TV set, and away it went. And you can aim the remote at your target and shoot it down, swing it like a bat and hit the ball (it only senses whether your swing is fast or slow, it cannot sense whether you are swinging high or low, darn it.), when you pitch the ball you can put spin on it and throw a curve ball or a slider. When bowling you can put spin on and throw it hard, or you can give it a gentle push down the lane. I wanted to try F-Zero, but Jon says that I need the regular Nintendo controller for that, the Wii controller is not backwards compatible. I was hoping.....
Jon also started giving our family the official announcement yesterday, but I don't know if I'm allowed to post it yet for the world to see.
